4.1 Character U in the Japanese Hiragana alphabet
The third Hiragana symbol sounds like the two English
characters U and u. It is one of those exception symbols
which can be written with just one western latin character.
4.2 In which order to draw the lines?
Here are my step-by-step illustrations about the
important drawing order of this Hiragana symbol.
4.3 How about the direction of each line?
The line stroke direction does matter when writing in Hiragana.
I have painted small red arrows to indicate in which direction to
draw in - if you write by hand.
Step 1 starts with a centered, but slightly leaning down
horizontal line from left to right.
Step 2 finishes off the Hiragana symbol by drawing a
shape which reminds of a western U style character
which leans down towards the left. Begin drawing the
upper part of it and keep right for a while, then bend
the curve down and return by drawing towards left.
